Use these cute Valentines Envelopes to send your love a note or little gift. You could also use them to package Heart Day Gifts for your kid's or their teachers! And honestly you could take out the Valentines theme and use them for other occasions such as Birthdays or Christmas!
Flip the envelope over to the front, this is where you can be creative! Use what you have on hand, scrap felt pieces or perhaps you picked up some fun Valentines Day embellishments you'd like to use!
The sky is the limit, decorate the front of the envelope as much or as little as you'd like!
Some of your additions can by sewn on by the machine or hand stitched depending what they are. Once you have pinned what you are decorating on the front, you can take the pins off the sides to open it up and sew them on.
I used my Big Shot and some die cuts to make some of my own embellishments out of felt and then I sewed them on with the machine!
Fold your envelopes back up and pin the sides again. Because we're working with felt and the edges don't fray, we can just sew up the edges without having to sewing wrong sides together and flip it back out like some of our other projects.
Now depending on how you want to fasten your envelopes, we have a couple options now. Check out the pictures (a,b,c left to right) if you are visual like me! :)
a) No fastener: you can sew the edges and then iron a proper fold so that it will stay down.
b) A button: hand stitch a button onto the bottom, back side of your felt and make a button hole with your scissors to fit the button
c) Velcro: Either sticky back or sew on a piece to each end of the back so it fastens.
Valentines Day is right around the corner and today we have some very simple decor that you can make to celebrate this special day around your house! And all you need is cardboard (mine is from the recycle bin cut out from a delivery box!) and yarn!
Trace as many heart shapes onto the cardboard that you would like to make! And then with some sharp scissors (so your hands don't get super tired;) cut the hearts out.
Use another piece of tape to secure the end of your yarn roll to the cardboard heart (photo on the left) and then start wrapping the yarn all around the heart until you cannot see any more cardboard.
Continue this step until all your hearts are covered. Then you can cut a piece of yarn to the length you would like to hang your heart garland (I would cut a little extra so you can adjust it to fit perfectly!)
Then weave that piece of yarn through the hoops you made in step two and hang your beautiful piece of art you created!
Two more weeks until Valentines and I'm sure you're already getting notices from school and daycare home about the big day! Don't worry Mama's, I've got you covered!
I created 6 different printable's you can easily use and the supplies you need to buy for it is minimal and inexpensive! And best yet, it will be more original then just a box of smarties!
Go ahead and pick your favourite one and just follow the simple instructions to put it together. (They are so easy your little one's should be able to do most of it!)
All you need to do is print out the PDF and cut them out to fit to top of your bag. Make sure you leave an equal space above the image so you can fold it over the bag and staple it together like shown in the pictures.
